Valerie Connelly


Assistant Vice President – Commercial Marketing

Valerie’s career in insurance began in October 1988. She began as a Commercial Lines assistant and within 2 years was promoted to a Customer Service Representative handling small to mid-sized accounts.  In this position, she was able to grow her knowledge and handled all functions of customer service including marketing and claims handling.  As her skills developed, she was able to recognize and identify coverage gaps to greater serve and offer solutions her clients.

In September 1996, she joined CBS Coverage Group and began working as a Commercial Lines Account Executive handling large Real Estate Clients and Contractors – both Commercial and Residential for accounts with premiums over $50K. Valerie was promoted to Commercial Lines Group Assistant Manager in 2002. In addition to her duties as an Account Executive, she was responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Commercial Lines service department as well as asked to monitor and mentor the junior staff members and trouble-shooting when necessary.

In 2006, Valerie was asked to put her years of insurance experience and knowledge of the Real Estate and Contracting marketplace to even greater use and joined CBS’s Commercial Lines Marketing Department.  She has expanded her product knowledge in all segments of insurance and her innovative thinking and creativity with insurance placements continue to benefit CBS.  Valerie’s contribution was further recognized and she was again promoted to Assistant Vice President where she continues to be a valuable asset to the CBS Team.
